What we do
One contractor across six services
Most companies that call us are already juggling contractors. There is a rail contractor, a civil contractor, a hauling company and an environmental firm, and every one of them has a different schedule, a different insurance certificate and a different reason the job is late. American Services was built to collapse that list. We self perform railroad construction, track maintenance, derailment response and certified load transfer, civil site work, dump truck hauling, and emergency environmental response for spills, chemical releases and chemical fires. The same company that contains the release hauls the contaminated material off site, rebuilds the grade and puts the track back in service.
That matters most on the worst days. An incident is a coordination problem before it is a construction problem, and every handoff between contractors is an hour that nobody is working. When one company owns the whole scope, there is one schedule, one point of contact and one set of documentation at the end.

Very little of our work begins at a convenient time. It begins at two in the morning, when a roadmaster finds cars on the ground, or when a plant supervisor watches product move toward a storm drain. A dispatcher who can tell you which crew is coming and how long it will take them to get there, on that first call, before you hang up.
How we work
Our own equipment, our own crews
We own the trucks and we employ the operators. There is no broker between your emergency and the machine that has to show up, which is why the crew count we promise is the crew count that arrives. It also means our people know each other. On a derailment or a chemical release, the difference between a crew that has worked together for years and a crew assembled that morning is measured in hours of downtime.
Three yards, six states
We work out of Southaven, Mississippi, Middleton, Tennessee and Georgia. Those three locations put crews and equipment inside a few hours of most points in Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Alabama. Response time is a function of geography, and we built the footprint on purpose.

Our crews are held to the standard our clients are audited against, because on a railroad or inside a plant the contractor’s safety record becomes the client’s safety record. We carry the certifications the work requires, including BNSF certified load transfer, we maintain a written safety program, and our insurance certificates and qualification documents are available on request, usually the same day you ask.
