Derailment Response and Certified Load Transfer, 24 Hours a Day.

Rerailing, load transfer, environmental cleanup and track repair from one crew base, so the line reopens sooner and you manage one contractor instead of four. Crews are staffed and equipped to rerail, transfer loads and clear the right-of-way around the clock, with every step documented for the railroad, insurer and regulator.

Report a Derailment

Why one contractor

A derailment is four jobs pretending to be one

Cars on the ground create four separate scopes of work. Somebody has to recover the equipment. Somebody has to transfer the load off the damaged car, under procedure, without creating a second incident. Somebody has to clean up whatever came out of it. And somebody has to repair the track, the ballast and the grade that go back underneath. Handled by four companies, that is four schedules, four mobilizations, four insurance certificates and four sets of paperwork, with the line closed while they wait on each other.

American Services performs all four. That is the entire argument for calling us, and it is measured in downtime.

Scope

What we handle on scene

01

Rerailing and Equipment Recovery

Assessment, rigging and recovery of cars and equipment, worked around whatever access the site actually has rather than the access the plan assumed.

02

Certified Load Transfer

Our teams hold BNSF certified load transfer qualification. Transferring lading off a damaged car is the step most contractors cannot legally or safely perform, and it is frequently the step the entire recovery is waiting on.

03

Spill Containment and Environmental Cleanup

Fuel and product releases are contained and remediated by our own environmental crews, on the same mobilization, without a second contractor being called out.

04

Debris Removal and Hauling

Our trucks remove wreckage, damaged ties, contaminated ballast and spoils, with tickets and manifests per load.

05

Track Repair and Restoration

Subgrade repair, ballast, ties, rail, surfacing and alignment, so the line goes back in service to standard rather than patched to buy time.

06

Documentation

Photo record, timeline, crew and equipment logs and disposal manifests for the railroad, the shipper and the insurer.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Location and nearest access point, number and type of cars, whether anything has released, what the lading is, and the site contact. That is enough to dispatch.

Yes, with our own crews, which is why the cleanup does not become a second mobilization on a separate schedule.

Yes. Recovery, cleanup, hauling and track restoration are one scope with one point of contact.

Call 662-781-4481. A dispatcher confirms crew and ETA on that call.
